10 WWE Releases That Could Have Been Easily Avoided
7. Big Cass
There's an argument to be made for Big Cass' tag partner Enzo Amore's inclusion on this list, as he too could of found longevity in the company if a few of his choices hadn't been as idiotic as they were. Yet, it was Colin Cassady's promising singles run that really felt like unfulfilled potential and Vince McMahon must surely be disappointed at just how badly the push worked out for the troubled star.
Post-break-up with Amore and a serious ACL injury, Cass was next in-line for one of the company's infamous 'big guy' pushes in April 2018 and proceeded to bully a returning Daniel Bryan over the coming weeks.
Though he was far from the finished product, Cass was being given the opportunity to grow in the ring with some of the best to ever lock up and went toe-to-toe with Samoa Joe and Bryan in a decent triple threat on SmackDown. Yet, Cass' backstage actions and intoxication issues would soon let him down and before long he was ousted from the company.
If Cass had been given the help he desperately needed inside WWE - be it through rehab or a more constructive form of discipline from McMahon - he could have found a way to suppress the demons which were derailing his push. However, WWE didn't feel he was worth the effort and cut the cord in June 2018. Luckily, Cass has since been offered a road to redemption by the wrestling savour that is Diamond Dallas Page and his yoga programme.
