10 WWE Releases That Made Absolutely No Sense
9. Luke Gallows And Karl Anderson
Coming out of WrestleMania 36, it seemed like Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were in a pretty strong position in the world of WWE.
The duo had just helped put together one of the company's most unique and compelling matches in quite some time in the form of the Boneyard match contested between their O.C. leader AJ Styles and The Undertaker. Yet, less than two weeks after the match aired on the WWE Network, the pair were no longer attached to Vince McMahon's empire.
This release came as something of a shock to fans around the world and the Good Brothers themselves, as the duo had snubbed the competition (AEW) to stay with McMahon's promotion only a year earlier.
It was later revealed that Paul Heyman was reportedly behind their releases, Apparently, the former Executive Director of Raw felt the pair earned too much money, and saw them as obvious company savings in the midst of the current global health crisis.
However, the Good Brothers still both clearly had a lot to offer both creatively and as a recognisable tag team on weekly programming, so getting rid of a valuable duo because WWE (or more likely Heyman) suddenly disagreed with the amount of money they were making felt like a pretty odd decision. And it definitely didn't help keep one of their 'Phenomenal' top stars happy, to say the least.
But, their loss was Impact Wrestling's gain, I suppose.
