Say what you will about Big Sexy and his up and down career inside of the squared circle, but a few months removed from an unexpected appearance in the 2011 Royal Rumble more than a few fans were interested in seeing what the towering former nWo man had left in the tank.
Shedding his Diesel skin during an attack on CM Punk post-SummerSlam victory vs. John Cena, costing him the WWE title in the process, the stage was set for an intriguing battle of the generations; Voice of the Voiceless vs. The Measuring Stick. What could go wrong?
Well, Nash not being medically cleared to compete wasn't the best of starts, and that bump in the road led to Punk being flattened by The Game at Night of Champions instead. And when Big Daddy Cool was finally given the all-clear, the CM Ship had sailed, meaning an unwanted sledgehammer/ladder throw-down with ol' pal Trips was booked in an attempt to salvage this ill-thought-out programme.
It did not and a handful of appearances post-Summer of Punk derailment did little to wash away this truly pointless return.
