10 WWE Returns That Nobody Asked For (Which Ended Up Being Awesome)

2. Big Show (2008)

Floyd Mayweather and Big Show - No Way Out 2008

WEEEEELLLLL! Well, nobody was really that over the moon when the Big Show made his return to the "Land of the Giants"... after a grand total of one whole year away.

Fair play to the former Giant, Paul Wight had clearly been hitting the gym and looked like he was in the best shape of his life when he popped back up at No Way Out in 2008. But, simply put, with big men like The Great Khali, Umaga and The Undertaker all still roaming around the company, nobody was desperately banging the drum for a Big Show return.

However, once it became clear that the monstrous wrestler would immediately be engaging in a feud with one of the greatest boxers ever to put on a pair of gloves, Floyd Mayweather, fans started to sit up and take notice.

With the pair's rivalry going on to become one of the company's biggest attractions going into WrestleMania XXIV, this Big Show was a far cry from the burnt out performer we'd seen on ECW a year earlier. Admittedly, their bout at the Show of Shows wasn't exactly a classic, but seeing "Money" Mayweather spark out a giant with a pair of knuckle dusters is the sort of sports entertainment we can all enjoy.
