10 WWE Royal Rumble Runners-Up You Totally Forgot About
10. Kane (2001)
The Big Red Machine's performance is remembered more for the amount of superstars he eliminated rather than how close he came to winning. Kane looked nailed on to win 2001's Rumble after eliminating what was then a record 11 superstars after sending Drew Carey running for his life. The Big Red Machine was joined by The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the final three of the most hardcore Rumble in history. The People's Champion was the first of the three to go as Austin tried to lift him over the top rope. However, Rocky bought some time by raking The Rattlesnake's eyes before the roles were reversed. With Stone Cold tittering over the top rope, Kane looked to have eliminated the pair to claim the win. However, Stone Cold hung on to send Rock tumbling to the floor. Kane wheeled away before realising what had happened. After delivering a chokeslam, Kane rolled out of the ring and brought a steel chair into the ring. This move backfired as Austin got his hands on the chair to hit the seven-footer three times but failing to knock Kane off his feet. A staggering Kane was clotheslined over the top rope and Austin claimed the win.
