10 WWE Saudi Arabia Matches That Didn't Totally Suck

Across 2018 the combination of Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler would become pretty played out, with tag or singles matches between the two becoming as inevitable as death and taxes. But the eventual staleness of the booking is no fault of the two performers, who make for great, complimentary opponents and put on the best match of the hugely disappointing Wrestling World Cup.

The fight starts off pretty slow with both selling injuries from their previous brackets, but as we get to the stretch the two sense that another gear will be needed to wake the dozing crowd, and the final five or so boasts a great selection of counters, trading finishers, and some of the best moves in each guy’s arsenal.

Rollins eventually wades into a dispute with Ziggler’s second, Drew McIntyre, and is ultimately thrown from the top rope into a sweet superkick and a pinfall loss; from there, Ziggler would progress to the finals of the tournament only to lose to Shane McMahon. The World Cup very much peaked in the semis.
