10 WWE "Shoot" Moments Absolutely Nobody Believed

Sometimes it simply doesn't matter how you get there in the land of WWE, as long as the end result is worthwhile and entertaining.

If you need an example of this, look no further than Pat McAfee and Adam Cole's recent NXT beef.

During the former NXT Champion's appearance on The Pat McAfee Show in July, the pair appeared to go from being civil to bitter enemies in a matter of minutes, with McAfee blatantly poking Cole and the latter biting back like a man cutting a promo in the ring. Though the pair have often taken shots at each other in the past and even clashed at an NXT Live Event at one point, fans were wise enough to sense that this "shoot" conversation, along with those other aforementioned confrontations, was simply just two people who love wrestling trying to get an angle over.

As we now know, it most definitely was all part of the plan and the pair would go on to lock horns at Takeover XXX in a grudge match which over-delivered in terms of storyline coming in and the actual work which went down in the ring. It may not have made us genuinely question whether the events we were seeing on-screen were based in reality, but this McAfee/Cole interaction eventually paved the way for the former NFL player to become one of NXT's regular highlights on Wednesday nights.
