10 WWE "Shoot" Moments Absolutely Nobody Believed

If watching decades of WWE television has taught fans one things, it's that Chairman Vince McMahon will go to extraordinary lengths to pop a rating.

However, trying to rope fans in with the promise of an epic match-up or returning legend is one thing, seemingly throwing money at people in the hope of keeping them interested is another. Yet, that's exactly what happened when the boss brought Million Dollar Mania to Monday Night Raw for three weeks back in 2008. In the end, though, this suspiciously generous moment in time would come to a screeching halt thanks to a totally real and not at all rigged disaster!

As McMahon was finishing up another edition of the giveaway, a lighting fixture suddenly crashed onto the stage from up high. The area the boss was stood on then blew up and Vinnie Mac slid on down the ramp to the floor below. If that wasn't enough, McMahon's night was emphatically brought to a close when the Million Dollar Mania sign came crashing down on top of him.

This entire event was framed as a real-life incident which gradually (and hilariously) got worse and worse. Sadly though, with McMahon cheating death a year earlier after being blown up in a limousine and then returning a few weeks later, few people actually bought into the Chairman being genuinely injured in the dramatic accident.
