9. Brock Lesnar (Vs. Kurt Angle, IGF, 2007)
Brock Lesnar's best match outside of WWE, just as his best match inside it, came against Kurt Angle, the man who (dubiously) claimed to have once given the 'Beast Incarnate' the run-around in a legitimate off-duty shoot fight.
It came in 2007, in Antonio Inoki's start-up IGF, when Brock (sort of) defended the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship which he was, officially, stripped of about a year earlier after refusing to defend it in NJPW following apparent visa issues.
Whilst Lesnar's time in Japan was largely remembered for a lengthy legal dispute with WWE - whose officials were less than impressed that their former 'Next Big Thing' was seeing another wrestling promotion behind their back - he proved with matches like this one exactly why fans were dying to see him return to the ring on a more permanent basis.
