10 WWE Stars And Their Biblical Counterparts

5. CM Punk = Lucifer

First of all, no, this entry isn€™t suggesting that CM Punk is the devil. Instead, it€™s a reference to CM Punk€™s career decisions, which were based on his own uncontrollable pride. Lucifer was an angel in Heaven who was banished by God because he wouldn€™t bow down to humans, who were created in God€™s image. He viewed humanity as imperfect creations and he, being an angel, couldn€™t fathom being seen as inferior to an imperfect creature. Lucifer€™s arrogance and pride caused him to fall from Heaven, and ever since, his name has been one of the named used to describe the Devil or the Antichrist. So what does this have to do with Punk? It has to do with his own ego and (according to some) his over-inflated view of himself. Punk, who considered himself to be €˜the best in the world€™, saw himself as a main-event level star worthy of headlining all the major shows, including WrestleMania. Punk believed that he was better than everyone else in WWE, and felt that being put into a match with Triple H at WrestleMania XXX (which, let€™s be honest, would€™ve drawn big money), was an insult to his contributions and credentials. Punk, like Lucifer, was blinded by his own pride and self-worth, and left WWE, never to return. But unlike Lucifer, he left under his own accord initially (until he was faxed his termination papers).
