10 WWE Stars Fans Refused To Give Up On

6. Kofi Kingston

There were times between 2008-2019 when it looked like Kofi Kingston was treading water and growing weary of continually kicking his legs. This was especially true between 2011-2014 before New Day walloped everyone with that wonderful feeling of surprise; a hot act was born and Kofi's career was saved.

God bless the people for never wavering.

WWE creative might've looked at Kingston as the kind of worker who could bump like a man possessed for others and reliably trade second-tier titles, but fans looked at him with respect. They knew the cancellation of his early push wasn't merited, and they were more-than-ready to give him another shot. That didn't change at all before the glory of WrestleMania 35.

There, a good decade after most thought he would, Kofi won the WWE Title. It says everything for his connection to people that grumbles still pop up about the way his reign ended during SmackDown's FOX debut. 'KofiMania' was real before Vince McMahon knew it.
