10 WWE Stars In Desperate Need Of A Turn
9. Apollo Crews
There's a lot to like about Apollo Crews. His offence alone, which he doesn't look like having any right to pull off, is capable of ungluing crowds who barely popped for his entrance. He seems to be an inherently likeable bloke, too.
His real life journey to WWE is also justification enough for his current positioning as a babyface. The problem is that he doesn't possess, or hasn't been given the opportunity to show off, any personality. The only thing we really know about Apollo Crews is that he's happy to be there, but there is a delusional and oblivious heel hiding beneath the surface.
Blessed with extraordinary athletic prowess, and a smile which can border on the cloying side, it wouldn't take much to subvert Crews into a vainglorious heel. A fusion of Mr. Perfect and circa-2000 Kurt Angle seems a natural fit for a man who is too superhuman for fans to relate to without an interesting and storied journey to embark on first.
His since-deleted Twitter account too, is evidence that he has a colourful and mischievous side, one WWE could mine by altering his character alignment.
