10 WWE Stars Released In 2019

2. Goldust (Dustin Rhodes)

Dustin Rhodes
Lee South/AEW

Signed: January 2013 (fifth time).

Left: April 2019.

Before morphing into the controversial, androgynous character Goldust in 1995, Dustin Rhodes had worked shots for WWE as early as 1990. Since then, he's had five separate stints in the organisation, and it looks like the latest will be his last ever unless something dramatic happens to AEW. That's where Dustin will make his home for the foreseeable future.

It was always going to happen.

AEW's creation gave Rhodes somewhere new to hang his hat, and he fits snugly into the All Elite roster as a battle-hardened legend. A match against younger brother Cody at Double Or Nothing proved that Dustin has more left in him beyond awkward comedy spots alongside R-Truth on WWE TV.
