10 WWE Stars To Replace Daniel Bryan As Intercontinental Champion

If there was any justice in the world, Cody Rhodes would have already been a WWE Champion by now (perhaps with multiple reigns under his belt). He has every tool needed to be a top star in the wrestling word: he looks great, is fantastic in the ring, and has an incredibly versatile charisma. He has fully committed to every gimmick thrown his way, from Randy Orton's lackey to narcissistic pretty boy, 'Phantom of the Opera' style heel to Goldust's deranged brother. An admitted downside to a future Intercontinental Championship spell is that Rhodes is already a two time champ in this regard - a surprisingly low number given his constant presence in the midcard scene. Fans would potentially tire of a further run very quickly, but if any man can continue the sense of legitimacy Bryan has given to the belt, Cody is surely the ideal candidate. He arguably began the championship's revival, bringing back the classic white look of the strap and defending it in a series of great matches for over 200 days. Hopefully Rhodes will be given another chance to shine as Intercontinental Champion - hopefully as a stepping stone to his rightful place at the top of the card.
