10 WWE Stars Who Always Guaranteed You A Great Match

2. Shawn Michaels

When you hear Shawn Michaels being discussed on WWE programming, you tend to hear the word "best" thrown around a lot. Some refer to him as the best wrestler of all-time, while others refer to him as the best performer. Others say that, when the chips are down, he is the best we've ever seen in a "big match" situation. No matter if you believe any of those titles or not, there's one thing that is difficult to deny... the list of good-to-great matches in Michaels' career is just about as long as the list of anyone from his era, and perhaps of any era. If you just look at his singles career, he was primed to be a star from the moment he threw Marty Jannetty through Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake's barber shop window. His midcard matches for the Intercontinental Title were promising, but once ladders came into play (both with his WrestleMania 10 match against Razor Ramon and his 1992 match against Bret Hart that was never televised or put on DVD until 2011), his career took off. At WrestleMania alone, it could be said that Michaels has participated in ten "classic" matches that will be remembered forever. Nobody else in WWF/WWE history can say that. Much like was said about Daniel Bryan earlier, Michaels was always a scrappy, undersized guy that didn't back down. If you watched his matches with the likes of The Undertaker, Vader, Mankind, Diesel, Sycho Sid, and more, he was always taking the fight to them, able to match their work in brawls just as well as he could wrestle with the likes of Bret Hart. He was truly a joy to watch in the ring.
