10 WWE Stars Who BADLY Need New Gimmicks After WrestleMania 40
5. Xavier Woods

Yes, Xavier Woods solo. No, not New Day as a collective. Just Woodsy.
Being fair about it, WWE did experiment with a departure from the typical New Day fare by crowning Xavier 'King' in 2021, but it didn't really lead to much. Woods got injured shortly after that, then returned without the crown gimmick as if nothing ever happened. It was a missed opportunity, no doubt.
That was Vince McMahon's creative; Triple H's might be different. Woods probably needs another crack at singles work before it's too late as well. New Day is fine enough to trundle on a tag sans Big E, but is there much call to see these guys win tag gold again? Woods and Kofi Kingston as champs wouldn't achieve anything.
It'd be more fun to see Xavier spin out of New Day's shadow (properly this time) and become his own man. He doesn't need to go heel for that to happen, but Woods could make a significant contribution to the midcard as a singles act in 2024.
