10 WWE Stars Who Came Out Of The Wilderness
6. Jeff Hardy
How They Entered The Wilderness:
Jeff Hardy first took some time away from WWE in 2003, after his drug use, erratic behaviour and overall burnout led to no-shows and a loss of passion for the company.
He would return in 2006 and amass a few more Intercontinental and Tag titles, before he finally seized the brass ring at Armageddon 2008 with a maiden WWE Championship win.
Main event Hardy would last just under a year and come August 2009, the Charismatic Enigma decided to leave in order to heal his injuries.
In doing so, he signed for TNA a few months later and those excuses for resting and recovery looked more like a ruse that would open up a chance to try something different.
WWE didn’t seem amused but were in no rush to roll out the welcome wagon for an unstable Hardy return.
How They Came Out:
Eight long years after Jeff was last seen in a WWE ring, he eventually did return by his brother's side and the fans had never been happier to see them. Both of the men looked to have learnt how to handle their demons and seemed to be in better places altogether.
Vince McMahon has given the men free reign to be extreme, without allowing them to become burnt out by the grueling schedule of their younger peers. Jeff even finally got his Hell in a Cell match last year!
Obviously, injuries still happen but it looks as though the company has forgiven the sibling for his wantaway escapades of the past and knows that with Hardy under their umbrella, the people will pay to see him.
