How They Entered The Wilderness:

When Chyna first decided to choke out Marlena in 1997, who was supporting Goldust in his match with Triple H, the audience didn’t know what to make of the Ninth Wonder of the World.

Seen as D-Generation X's silent enforcer, fans soon took to Chyna as a no nonsense powerhouse who could more than hang with the men.

Despite her male counterpart's occasional reluctance in letting her over-power them on screen, Chyna would become the first woman to enter the Royal Rumble match and become Intercontinental Champion too.

She decided to leave to pursue an acting career in 2001 and by 2004 Chyna would find herself immersed in the world of adult films. This new career would make for a controversial link to WWE's now family friendly environment, so Chyna was phazed out of the limelight after doing so much for women in the company.

How They Came Out:

Chyna passed away by a presumed overdose in 2016 and the wrestling community mourned the loss of an iconic figure.

Feeling as though they'd waited long enough to applaud her impact on wrestling as a whole, the WWE came to a decision a few years later.

In 2019, Chyna was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2019 along with the rest of DX. After the company had tried so hard for so long to extinguish any connection between themselves and the adult film star, they could deny no longer Chyna's deserved place in WWE history.
