2. Big E.

Now of course, New Day has been one of WWE’s great successes in recent times. After a rocky start, the trio has gone on to win multiple championships across both shows, with Kofi Kingston’s WWE Championship victory the obvious highlight. Big E. has been an integral part of that success, simultaneously acting as New Day’s muscle and comedic element.

The time has come for a change. Bringing New Day to an end will take nuance and skill, but if done right the company could have a new main event star on their hands in the form of Big E. He has the look, the personality, the skills and the experience to be a legitimate game-changer for the company. When it comes to the former Langston, it really is a matter of when as opposed to if.

The New Day has done fantastic things for Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. It legitimised the former, while it made the latter the main event star that he always threatened to be. What has it done for Big E? Multiple tag title runs, sure, and a chance to sharpen his comedic chops. The former NXT Champion is capable of much, much more.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
