10 WWE Stars Who Desperately Need New Gimmicks

5. Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan just received a gimmick change, although that change is yet another example of WWE’s creative team not exactly understanding the idea of subtlety and nuance. Liv returned to WWE TV on the last RAW of 2019, interrupting Lana and Lashley’s wedding and revealing (sort of) a past love affair with the former. The segment was one of the worst seen in WWE in years.

WWE reacted somewhat swiftly to the backlash and the Lana/Liv thing has more or less been dropped entirely, with Liv picking up a couple of wins over the former Mrs. Rusev. Liv now seems to be embarking on a feud (of sorts) with former Riott Squad buddy Ruby Riott, although who knows how long that will last.

There was a time when Liv Morgan was one of the most intriguing future prospects for WWE’s women’s division. The New Jersey-native seemed to be improving every time she got into the ring, and her stint as the playful member of the Riott Squad gave her television experience and laid the groundwork for a future babyface turn. Still only 25, there is plenty of time for Liv to come good, but her current generic character isn’t going to help matters.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
