10 WWE Stars Who Desperately Need To Be Repackaged

3. The New Day

When you’re reduced to licking an ice cream bicycle on TV for a couple of minutes, your act is effectively played out.

Give New Day all the credit in the world for taking their original garbage gimmick and turning it into something great - but their comedy antics peaked at around WrestleMania 32, and have grown incredibly tiresome sense. They still sell a lot of merchandise, and they get good reactions from the crowd, but the trio is nowhere near as fresh or as funny as they once were. A trip to SmackDown isn’t going to change that.

Each member of the team is talented. Big E could be a dominant face or heel as soon as he stops licking things. Kofi Kingston can almost always be counted on for a good match, and could be given an opportunity in the upper midcard on SmackDown. It would also be interesting to see Xavier Woods cut a promo that doesn’t revolve around lame humor. He’s good on the mic. He deserves the chance to actually cut a dramatic promo.

After making their way through the SmackDown tag teams, it might be time to split these three up. It’s either that, or six months from now they’ll be trying to get over New Day pasta, then New Day soda, then New Day vacuums. It will never stop.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
