10 WWE Stars Who Didn’t See Their Own Downfall Coming

9. Chyna

X-Pac's fellow ex-DX alumnus Chyna suffered a very different kind of problem in 2001.

One year earlier, she'd been a genuine crossover success for the company. The world was at Chyna's feet - she blossomed into the most important woman in the WWF once Sable left, she had a relationship with Triple H away from the ring and she was regularly jostling with the boys for credible titles like the Intercontinental belt.

Then, her whole world turned upside down. Triple H started getting cosy with Stephanie McMahon, and that left Chyna's prospects in tatters. It cannot be an accident that she went from ultra-important character to the unemployment line so quickly, and it's hardly a shocker that Chyna wasn't satisfied by dominating the women's division either.

She'd been discussed as a possible opponent for Steve Austin just a few years before, and she had legit started to turn heads outside the promotion too. The WWF exit door kinda snuck up on Chyna before she knew what was happening.
