10 WWE Stars Who Failed In WCW
6. Big Boss Man
As Big Boss Man, Ray Traylor was one of the most recognisable characters on the WWF TV. That success did not carry over into WCW.
Making his debut as 'The Boss' in late '93, Traylor came into WCW with a victory over US Champion, Rick Rude, leading to an unsuccessful title challenge at Starrcade '93. Traylor was subsequently forced to change his name after WWF took issue with the obvious similarities.
As such, Traylor became 'The Guardian Angel', donning the attire of the unarmed crime-prevention patrollers of the The Guardian Angels organisation. The gimmick lasted about a year before Traylor turned heel and reverted back to his Big Bubba Rogers persona of the NWA.
After floundering in the awful Dungeon of Doom stable, Big Bubba briefly joined the nWo before being dropped from the group by Eric Bischoff. After switching to his real name and forming an alliance with The Steiners for a forgettable nWo feud, Traylor left WCW in mid '98.
Traylor would once again revive his Big Bossman character to much success in the WWF that same year. As part of Vince McMahon's heel Corporation stable, Bossman would win several championships and even challenge Big Show for the WWF Title at Armageddon '99.
