10 WWE Stars Who Gambled On A New Entrance Theme
3. The Undertaker Tries To Become Cool, Uses Limp Bizkit To Get There
What if the Undertaker actually jumped to WCW in the Attitude Era? is a classic wrestling what-if, which is weird, since we know the answer. In a strange way, he sort of did move to WCW, once upon a time: he adopted an Eric Bischoff fantasy gimmick and phoned in his performances to the point of insufferable parody.
The Undertaker's metamorphosis from undead butterfly to selfish caterpillar bastard obviously demanded a new theme, and 'Taker, the awld boomer, eventually opted for Limp Bizkit, and 2020 optics be damned, there were cool once upon a time. And the bit worked in spite of the wild discrepancy; the call-and-response of 'Rollin'' popped Attitude Era crowds daft, and 'Taker felt like he belonged with his fellow kids. Hilariously, he actually swapped Kid Rock for Limp Bizkit, in a bid to become cooler.
Now I know y'all be lovin' this sh*t right here / B Double O G ER Red is right here / People in the house don't put them hands in the air / 'Cause I don't care, and you won't care
That's about as forced as 'Taker's aspirational cool - 'There ain't but one kinda pie Kane and I both eat!' - but yeah. Some people love this period of 'Taker's career, but he didn't up and drop it and become the best big match wrestler on the planet years later because it was much good.
