10 WWE Stars Who Had WrestleManias They Would Rather Forget
3. Michael Cole - WrestleMania XV
Commentating for WWE is a more stressful occupation than many realise. Could you imagine having to provide play-by-play for three hours while Vince McMahon and others backstage constantly scream instructions into your headset? It's that which made Mick Foley walk away from his cushy Smackdown announcing gig in 2009. Then imagine having to do all of this on the biggest show of the year, when the pressure is intensified tenfold. It's understandable that a line or two could be flubbed here and there. Of course everyone is on their A-game at 'Mania, but a few mistakes could be forgiven considering the heightened stress levels. But if there's one thing you should not do, it's give away the result of the biggest match of the year before it happens. Which is exactly what Maggle Cole did at WrestleMania XV. Before the Steve Austin versus The Rock main event Cole implored viewers to tune in to the Home Shopping Network after the show for an exclusive interview with 'the new WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin'. D'oh! Whilst it was always more than likely that Austin would be walking out Champ, Cole's bad call erased any doubts that fans watching on PPV might have had. Maybe that's why for WrestleMania 2000 he was relegated to backstage interviewer and called a s***head by Hardcore Holly.
