10 WWE Stars Who HATED Their Own WrestleMania Matches

4. Steve Austin (WrestleMania X8)

Steve Austin vs. Razor Ramon at literally any point between 1993-1998 would've been badass. Unfortunately, Scott Hall's personal problems ramped up by '99, and he was a shell of the performer he'd been by the time a second WWF run came knocking in 2002.

Thus, Austin vs. Hall at 'Mania X8 was a dud.

It was also a sizeable drop-off for 'Stone Cold'. He'd earned millions headlining 'Mania X-Seven vs. The Rock one year prior, and wasn't used to being a bit-part player on the WrestleMania midcard. Worse, the sinking Hall couldn't have been in a worse place physically or mentally to justify a berth with Austin on the biggest show of the year.

'Mania X8 was one to forget for both, but Steve definitely hated it more. He'd end up walking out on the company a few months later. By that time, Hall's aforementioned demons had cost him his job. What a messy mix they proved to be.
