10 WWE Stars Who Need To Turn In 2017

9. Big E

Big E is the clear breakout star of the New Day stable, a Vince McMahon fetish with an impossible strongman physique and the ability to engage the crowd with his promos. He's a babyface star in waiting, cast in the classic WWE mould, but there's enough of his own unique persona within the act to resonate with crowds.

Which is precisely why he should turn heel and violently disband the New Day.

There is a false narrative surrounding Roman Reigns, one perpetuated by Peter Rosenberg: that the response to Reigns is contrarian for its own sake. There is an element of truth to it, as there is with most cliches. If WWE were to break up the faction and instantly position Big E as the singles star, it would make storyline sense. Big E is popular, and he has been installed as the foremost kayfabe factor in the group's success. He's the destroyer - the man dispatched to secure victories after his slighter teammates do the bumping.

But it would trigger the anxiety of the loud naysayers, especially since his proportions alone necessitate, rightly or wrongly, a certain type of push. Turning him heel just when the fans are on board would, ironically, buoy his babyface prospects.

The Rock template of 1998 is not specific to Big E...
