10 WWE Stars Who Need To Turn In 2017

8. Apollo Crews

Honestly, Apollo Crews might not even have that much potential in the heel role. His beaming smile might be the only hint of an actual personality within, but it seems sincere, at least.

Crews has been dealt a dire hand. He debuted on the post-WrestleMania 32 edition of RAW under the correct presumption that the hardcore fans would receive him with enthusiasm because he was over enough in NXT. That tactic was lazy and almost rightly punished, but through no real fault of his own, Crews never commanded the same reactions elsewhere. Fans were given no reason to make a connection with him. Eventually, the noise petered out to complete silence as Crews toiled in midcard obscurity for aeons. He's somehow less relevant than a jobber.

Perhaps that obliviousness could translate to an intentionally cloying act which could only really be a pale imitation of Kurt Angle - but anything would be an improvement on his current predicament. He is the guy who smiles a bit and gets beat a lot. He can flat out go when given a platform - but so can just about everybody on the roster. We're living in an age where even the next big hoss, Braun Strowman, is a more than capable in-ring performer. We've been here before - but the fact that Crews has reached an even lower nadir is proof that WWE might as well turn him.

File under "At this point, what's the bloody harm?"
