Jesse Ventura may not have seen any action in 'Nam, but the moustache-twirling Zeb Colter wasn't so un/lucky. Colter's political tirades as Jack Swagger's manager were full of ridiculousness, but his claims of fighting in Vietnam were 100% accurate. Colter was a member of the US Army's 25th Infantry Division, serving in Vietnam for a year before heading home to begin wrestling.

Colter, real name Wayne Keown, also received the Vietnam Service Medal for his time fighting in that beleaguered nation. Keown would go on to achieve wrestling success as 'Dirty' Dutch Mantell, launching the careers of Sting and The Ultimate Warrior and gave Steve Austin his ring name.

Colter was released by World Wrestling Entertainment in May of this year.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
