10 WWE Stars Who Should Have Won Money In The Bank
5. John Morrison
John Morrison is an interesting case of a superstar who had the look, the ability and charisma to be a star in WWE but never really rose to the heights most expected of him, primarily because of backstage politicking that eventually drove him from the company.
A winner of WWE's Tough Enough reality show, he seemed poise to achieve greatness. As a member of the tag team title-winning MNM team, he solidified himself as a skilled tag team performer. As a singles star, he improved with every passing match to the point that, by the time 2009 rolled around, he was consistently one of the top in-ring performers on all of SmackDown.
He should have been this generation's Shawn Michaels, a flashy competitor with heartthrob looks and a knack for delivering in big money situations.
That could have started with a Money in the Bank win in 2008 or 2010. In both of those scenarios, he could have carried the briefcase until the time was right, then instantly arrived in the main event by cashing in and capturing the top prize in WWE.
He was most certainly ready in the latter case. One of the most consistent and steady performers on the roster by '10, he could have been the breakout star WWE wasted so much time on Nexus trying to develop. He was right there, his performances alone begging the company to invest in him.
Unfortunately, they never did. Their loss is Lucha Underground's gain.
