10 WWE Stars Who Will Get Lost In The Shuffle Before WrestleMania 36

8. Shinsuke Nakamura

The demise of one of WWE's most under-utilised personalities started nearly two years ago, with Shinsuke Nakamura's epic Royal Rumble win proving to be a disappointing false dawn for the former New Japan Pro Wrestling star.

One misstep could have been forgiven, but after WWE took the ballsy (no pun intended) approach of turning Nakamura heel at WrestleMania 34, his booking took an absolute nose-dive.

Wretched feuds with AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy followed, with the latter producing a flaccid United States title run and an equally painful feud with Rusev. Those two would then be thrown into a mismatched tag team together and ended up battling for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 35 - a match they would lose on the night.

That odd pairing soon dissolved and Nakamura eventually usurped Finn Bálor as SmackDown's Intercontinental Champion, with this run still being endured today.

Even with one of the company's most storied belts wrapped around his waist, Nakamura feels like an afterthought in WWE and you can bet he will be booked as such in the lead up to WrestleMania 36.

The best we can hope for is a multi-man ladder car crash and a new direction for the once prestigious belt.
