10 WWE Stars Who Will Have A Strong Second Half To 2017

2. AJ Styles

If there has been any one constant in WWE between 2016 and 2017, it's that AJ Styles is still the MVP of SmackDown Live.

He may not be WWE champion at the moment (though he probably should be), but he continues to kill it every opportunity he gets. At the Royal Rumble, he lost the WWE Championship to John Cena in an instant classic. From there, he went on to have stellar showings at Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 33, the latter earning him his first-ever victory on the grandest stage of them all over Shane McMahon.

Lately, his series of matches with Kevin Owens over the United States Championship have been pretty good, and already he is a two-time U.S. champion. If he can survive his next match with Owens on SmackDown Live this coming week, he should have a long reign as champ ahead of him.

Styles can restore prestige to that title by bringing back John Cena's U.S. Open Challenge from 2015, but once that runs its course, he should reclaim his spot in the main event scene and begin contending for the WWE title again.

Now that WWE is well-aware how awesome 'The Phenomenal One' actually is, they'll ensure he remains a fixture on the blue brand for months (and hopefully years) to come.
