The end is nigh for the 'Deadman'.

This could very well be the second WrestleMania in a row he's missed, and it's fair to say the card has never needed him less. Ask yourself, did 'Mania 35 truly suffer because The Undertaker didn't work a squash bout or struggle to match past glories? No, it didn't.

The Wrestling Observer's latest issue did report that 'Taker could still strike a deal with WWE and be part of the show. Yes, he could, but it's not critical to 'Mania's success. If an appearance is signed, then it better be as part of a tag match too. That, as Extreme Rules 2019 proved, is the best way to use the iconic great at this point in his epic career.

Again though, there's no real need. Such a legend deserves to be remembered fondly, not for matches like that disaster with Goldberg in Saudi Arabia last summer. It's nowhere near disrespectful to suggest that 'Taker give 'Mania a miss.
