2021 hasn't been kind to ex-NXT man mountain Keith Lee. When he has been on TV, he's been in peripheral roles. When he hasn't, the former champion has fired out melancholy tweets about how much he misses fans and how appreciative he is of their support.

A 'Mania 37 berth just doesn't look like it's coming.

Vince McMahon reportedly feels like there's a "special spark" missing from Lee's presentation, which doesn't sound great. This is a dude who earned rave reviews for his matches against all and sundry on the indy circuit and in NXT, but he hasn't captured WWE's imaginations since moving to Raw the day after SummerSlam last August.

Keith's only hope seems to be an exhibition match on one of the nights in Tampa. WWE needed a few of those to fill up space last year, so he might be in consideration. Sadly for super-fans and Lee-gionnaires everywhere though, the chances of that diminish with each passing week.
