10 WWE Stars Whose Stock Has Fallen The Most Since SummerSlam 2016

4. Dolph Ziggler

One year on and it's almost like Dolph Ziggler's WWE Title shot at SummerSlam 2016 didn't even happen. Why would anyone new to the product think it did? The bleach-blonde 'Show Off' hasn't even been on SmackDown for a while and has been pushed to the sidelines time and time again. Besides, his heel run has been a disaster.

In August, 2016, Ziggler was cutting impassioned promos that threatened to make his WWE Title match against Dean Ambrose one of SummerSlam's most interesting matches. There was a realness to Dolph's words as he ranted about frustration over being declared a failure by those who clearly wished to see him fail. That fire has been doused in the year since.

Beating The Miz in a 'Career vs. Title' match at No Mercy to bag Intercontinental gold was a rare bright spot in Ziggler's year, but WWE failed to make the most of fan excitement over the win. Instead, Dolph was turned heel against fan wishes and proceeded to do nothing of note.
