The final man on this list with just four World Wrestling Entertainment PPV matches before his first singles world title opportunity is a man who you might expect to have made the jump into title contention somewhat quicker.

Goldberg finally entered the WWE the night after WrestleMania XIX, immediately finding himself in a most high profile feud against none other than The Rock. Big Bad Bill's first PPV match came against The Great One soon after, with Goldberg pulling out the win to go 1 and 0 in WWE. Not quite 173 and 0, but still.

Goldberg then transitioned into a feud with Chris Jericho, a beef that he dominated to say the least. He defeated Y2J at Badd Blood, before setting his sights on the World Heavyweight Championship.

Bill would take part in the Elimination Chamber match for the title at SummerSlam 2003, and it took sledgehammers and evolution to stop him. Nothing could stop him in his fourth PPV match however, as Goldberg defeated Triple H at Unforgiven 2003 in a Title vs. Career match.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
