10 WWE Stars You Forgot Fought For WCW During The Monday Night War
6. Jim Powers
Discovered by Big John Studd, Powers was first brought into WWE by Studd in 1984. Venturing out to Texas to gain experience, Powers returned to WWE full-time in 1987 to form the Young Stallions with fellow preliminary wrestler Paul Roma.
Chasing the Hart Foundation and Demolition for the WWE Tag Team Championships throughout 1987 and 1988, the Stallions would go eventually go their separate ways in 1989.
While Roma would go on to form Power and Glory with Hercules, Powers began a singles career as an undercard wrestler. Defeating enhancement talent like Steve Lombardi and Al Perez, Powers served as a jobber himself for up and coming mid-card talent like Bret Hart and Mr Perfect for half a decade, before finally departing WWE in 1994.
With almost no recognisable name value and having been off television for two years, Powers inexplicably signed with WCW in 1996, joining Teddy Long's stable alongside The Renegade and Joe Gomez.
Receiving more of a push that he had in almost a decade before, Powers scored victories over Jerry Lynn and Juventud Guerrera before forming an unsuccessful tag-team with Bobby Walker in 1997. After a solid year of staring at the lights, Powers exited WWE to rehabilitate a neck injury. He'd not work for any major organisation again.
