One of the most colourful characters in early-90's WWE, John 'The Bezerker' Nord was one of many ex-AWA performers to make the jump following the the company's 1991 closure.

A former tag team partner of Bruiser Brody in the AWA as Nord The Barbarian, he also feuded with Kerry Von Erich over the World Class Championship before finally arriving in WWE as The Viking in 1991.

Renamed The Bezerker, Nord accumulated a series of victories over enhancement talent by throwing them over the top rope and winning by count-out.

After only one notable feud with the Undertaker in 1992, The Bezerker was largely used as a name opponent for bigger stars to overcome on WWE television.

Departing WWE in early 1993, Nord competed for All Japan Pro Wrestling until 1997, upon which time he was reunited with fellow AWA alumni Eric Bischoff in WCW.

Wrestling under his own name with cropped, bleached blond hair, Nord was unrecognisable from his WWE past, but his career path was largely the same. Accumulating a long wining streak on WCW Saturday Night, Nord eventually came a cropper to a more profitable streak holder, Bill Goldberg.

Nord then teamed up with fellow ex-WWE star Barry Darsow to form a less than successful tag team, before departing WCW and wrestling soon after.
