Power-mad SmackDown commissioner Shane O-Mac fined Kevin Owens $100,000 for putting his hands on guest official Elias during a match between them at SummerSlam 2019. Owens was shocked, and so were the live crowd that night - they couldn't believe that KO was so cut up about this sum.

Here was a guy who had headlined WWE pay-per-views, been Universal Champion for 188 days and had been earning decent coin since moving to the main roster from NXT in 2015. $100,000 wasn't nearly high enough for Kevin to suddenly decided on subsequent episodes that he needed to get back on Shane's good side and apologise for his actions.

WWE acted like the fine would destroy his family's life forever.

They went a little low here. 100,000 smackers is a lot of cash, but it's maybe not high enough to collapse KO's bank account for good. Although a figure like $500,000 would've been ridiculous, it would've explained Owens' sorrow.
