10 WWE Storylines That Were Never Resolved

1. Austin, the McMahons And The Tricky Briefcase

WWEWWEHeaded into the 1999 King Of The Ring PPV, the biggest storyline wasn't focused around the title, it was all about control of the company. Part of the feud that really defined the Attitude Era, Austin was going into the PPV the CEO of the company and the main event was a handicap ladder match pitting him against both Shane and Vince McMahon for corporate control. The prize they needed to grab was a briefcase suspended above the ring. Late in the match, Austin had both men seemingly beaten and ascended the ladder to grab the case when all of a sudden, it rose up just out of Austin's reach, allowing the McMahons time to recover and win the match. Coming out of the PPV, the big question on everyone's lips was the identity of the person who lifted the briefcase and cheated Austin out of his hard fought victory. Obviously, the theme of this list is a distinct lack of payoff and we never found out just who it was that ensured the McMahon's win. It was at first insinuated that it was The Big Bossman but this was quickly dismissed and eventually, the whole issue was dropped as newer storylines were introduced. Considering the angle itself was directly to do with the hottest storyline in the company at the time, it is surprising that the fans never got a conclusion. Remember any of these? Any we missed?
