4. Stone Cold Vs Vince McMahon
Most of the WWE's Attitude Era was centred around the feud between long-suffering chairman of the board Vince McMahon and his franchise player, Stone Cold.
The pair were presented as natural antagonists: Vince being an uptight control freak whose newly-liberated locker room was beginning to run amok, and Austin a beer-chugging free spirit with a casual approach to - well, everything.
For a while, it was the storyline that defined wrestling, and it made WWE millions as they opened up an unassailable lead in the Monday Night Wars.
The only problem was those descriptions were equally fitting for McMahon and Austin's real life counterparts, and a clash of characters - which eventually saw the Texas Rattlesnake briefly head for the exit door in 2002 - was always lingering on the horizon.
