10 WWE Superstar Careers Completely F****d By Injuries

7. Rey Mysterio

Rey€™s already got a Hall of Fame career in the WWE before the injury bug bit him over the past few years€or does he? Wrestling since he was 14 years old, Rey was already a 14-year veteran when he joined the WWE in 2002 at the age of 28. With that experience came a history of knee problems. Rey, to his credit, wrestled injury-free for the first four years of his WWE career, which culminated in him winning the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania in 2006. Later that year, he€™d suffer his first real bad WWE injury when he needed to get knee surgery in November. That would put him out of action until August 2007. In February 2008, Rey tore his biceps and required three surgeries in the span of a month. He returned later that year, and managed to stay injury free until August 2011, where again he was out of action with an injury, and subsequently suspended for a Wellness Policy Violation. Rey took a year off before returning in the summer of 2012, but was injured again by the fall. He returned at the 2013 Royal Rumble, but had to get more knee surgery in March, and missed Wrestlemania for the fourth time in seven years. He returned later that year, but by the time he came back for the umpteenth time, the WWE was fed up with giving him a push, and he languished in the lower card for the first time in his WWE career. Relations between Mysterio and the WWE have been tense during his injuries. The WWE elected to use a clause in his contract that allowed them to extend it by a year without his permission because he took so much time off. Eventually time heals all wounds, but right now, relations are so bad between Rey and the WWE that he€™s not a lock for the Hall of Fame.
