10 WWE Superstar Careers Completely F****d By Injuries

6. Evan Bourne

After years of dazzling independent wrestling fans as Matt Sydal, Matthew Korklan was signed to the WWE in 2007, and debuted in ECW in 2008 as Evan Bourne. With his high-flying ability and jaw-dropping shooting star press that he dubbed the €œAir Bourne,€ Bourne became a big fan favorite and was well on his way to following in the footsteps of other popular Ring of Honor alumni like CM Punk. Bourne€™s first injury happened in late 2008 when he tore his deltoid ligament. He returned a few months later in 2009 and continued his rise up the card on the Raw brand. In late 2011 and early 2012, he was suspended for two Wellness Policy violations, and during his second suspension, he got in a car accident which broke his foot in four places. He never returned to WWE television and was released earlier this year. Korklan is back in the indies performing as Matt Sydal again, but we€™ll never know if he could have emulated the success of other ROH alums like Daniel Bryan and Cesaro because of that car accident.
