10 WWE Superstar Gimmicks That Just Aren't Working
3. Jinder Mahal

WWE really needed a lot of talent to fill in their roster numbers post-brand split. Instead of promoting Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode, or bringing in completely fresh faces for the heavyweight division, they called up Jinder Mahal to see what he was up to. Unbelievably, he was free. Did they accidentally call him?
Mahal turned on Heath Slater his first night in, and then became a designated jobber on Raw. He meant nothing more than Braun Strowman’s weekly meals, until he suddenly adopted a new gimmick of a man who wanted to be peaceful.
That lasted one week, as he hasn’t been back on Raw since his win over Jack Swagger. It doesn’t mean it’s over for good, but if WWE wanted this act to work, they shouldn’t have had him lose a ton of matches first!
Mahal has simply not been over at any point in his WWE career, and it looks like this latest run will only continue that troublesome trend.
