2. Seth Rollins' Crossfit
There's something of a dismissive attitude taking to CrossFit by the professional bodybuilders, who snarl at these comparatively 'skinny' guys doing their high-intensity interval training with their jumping and their rows and pull-ups. It's not like former WWE Champion Seth Rollins cares, though, since he has one of the best bodies currently in WWE and regularly promotes CrossFit via his social media channels and in interviews. The uber-ripper Rollins is obviously a huge fan of CrossFit, telling MensJournal.com that 'For me, there's no other way to train these days'. For Rollins, one of the biggest pluses about doing CrossFit workouts (which vary constantly and are usually but not always done in a class environment) is that the high intensity and range of movements mirrors what he does in the ring on a nightly basis. He says that:
It's tailored specifically for what we do. The intensity level is constant and high, and there's variables you can't foresee in our in-ring action. And having to work at a high level while you're under duress is something we're accustomed to, so training like that really helps us. It carries over very well into the ring.
The Architect has been critical of traditional bodybuilding as a way for wrestlers to train, calling it antiqidated and making the risk of injury more likely. However, with Rollins now out for a long period of time due to an innocuous knee injury suffered during a routine house show match (coupled with CrossFit's long history of being criticised for causing injury), he might be due a rethink. Or maybe not. If you want to get cut and do something to keep your heart rate up while improving cardio, the Rollins-endorsed CrossFit approach might be the thing for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmx560IYz48
