10 WWE Superstars Badly In Need Of A Character Reboot

8. Darren Young

For those that may have forgotten or were never aware, Darren Young is a pretty good hand, as they say. His pairing with Titus O'Neil as the Prime Time Players tag team has been the best utilisation of both men to date and Darren is clearly the team's workhorse. For Darren though, his career is in need of an upgrade and, while I wouldn't expect a run with the United States Championship in the near future, a new gimmick and character refresh would help to breathe life into the former Nexus member. Darren and Titus had a forgettable split when the Prime Time Players were broken up in early 2014 without any reason or plans made for the individuals' future. A hard split from Titus wouldn't be necessary this time around, especially with Titus currently serving a ridiculous 60 day suspension. As for what to repackage the real-life Fred Rosser III as, that's what the creative minds in WWE are employed to do. The man broke ground in 2013 when he informed the world that he was gay, becoming the first WWE superstar to do so while actively working for the promotion. Through 2016, WWE has avoided using this aspect of Fred's life as part of his on-screen character but that may be an idea that should be put back on the drawing board. Regardless, Young is a talented individual that can be better utilised than as half of a fledgling tag-team unlikely to make it back to the top as WWE Tag Team Champions.
