Whats a high-flying, good looking guy from South Africa got to do to get himself noticed? What places Justin Gabriel so high on this list is that unlike other mid-carders like Ziggler and Kofi, who at least get some TV time, Justin Gabriel has nothing. He hasnt picked up one singles victory on Raw or SmackDown since October of 2012. Even Heath Slater has gained some wins during that time! Ever since The Nexus ran its course, Gabriels star has dimmed greatly. The Corre was a waste of his, talent and his tag team with Tyson Kidd was going nowhere even before he was injured. From what weve seen, Gabriel doesnt seem to have a lot of skills on the mic. That shouldnt disqualify him from getting a fair chance. As Paul Heyman would always say "hide the negatives, and accentuate the positives." After all, just look at The Hardy Boyz. It took years for Matt to learn to cut a decent promo, and you could argue that Jeff never learned that skill. Yet both of them became stars. With Rey Mysterios career rapidly winding down, Sin Cara flopping as an attraction, and Evan Bourne still out from a lengthy injury, the company could use an exciting high-flyer on their shows. Gabriel is 33-years-old right now, so if WWE is going to give him a chance, they should get to it soon. Weve seen so little of him over the past couple years that if he showed up on TV and received a decent push hed still feel fresh.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
