WWE is having a crisis. A very minor crisis, but a crisis none-the-less. They are currently without any interesting monster heels. Im not talking about evil characters like Bray Wyatt, I mean big, huge, monstrous men who can toss around babyfaces with ease. Over the past few years, The Big Show and Mark Henry have both effectively played that role. For some reason WWE turned them both to the babyface side . Henry has especially suffered in his new role. That leaves the one remaining monster in Kane, who is now 46 years old, and far past his prime. Someone who could have benefited from this shortage is Brodus Clay. Theres no doubt that Clay overstayed his welcome as the Funkasauras character. It was a huge risk to take on the role in the first place, and it never fully paid off. Finally he ditched the Funkadactyls and Tensai and broke out on his own. Then he jobbed to The Miz in one of his first matches despite receiving new music and a new look. He jobbed to The Miz? What was WWE thinking? You have to believe that even if WWE does turn Henry or Show back to the heel side that theyre nearing the end of their career. Clay should have the opportunity to fill that role. Hes got a good look, hes a good talker and with some more intensity would be a solid mid-carder, or an occasional top-level opponent for guys like Daniel Bryan and John Cena. It's worth a shot, as having him show up on WWEs B-shows and job to guys half his size in just a couple minutes isnt doing anyone any good.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
