Its propensity to spring a nostalgic surprise is one of the main reasons the Royal Rumble is so cherished by even lapsed wrestling fans, though generally, the blasts-from-the-past are one-off cameos, hurled over the ropes in short order by a star of today or tomorrow. That, remarkably, wasn't the case for 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig in 2002, who, magically mobile having seemingly underwent Colombian stem cell surgery courtesy of his hefty Lloyds of London windfall, looked as good as new.

Hennig came across as a star of equal footing in a last three including Kurt Angle and Triple H, and WWE promptly offered the free agent a contract. Unfortunately, the adage that 'nobody's perfect' proved true. Just months into his second stint, Hennig caused mile high mayhem whilst the company flew home from their European tour, engaging in a drunken fist-fight with Brock Lesnar. Having nearly caused an aviation disaster, Hennig was promptly fired.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
