Scott Hall was another early-'90s star returning from WCW in 2002 who, despite learning to fall, couldn't cushion the drop from WWE's infamous 'plane ride from hell'.

In introductory vignettes heralding the overdue arrival of the beaten rival promotion's one true draw, the nWo, Vince McMahon vowed to inject 'poison' into the veins of his company. He got even more than he bargained for. At the outset of the new millennium, the former Razor Ramon was still struggling to overcome his dreaded personal demons, and as such he was hired strictly on probation.

Perhaps WWE would have demonstrated greater patience for one of their New Generation prodigal sons had he demonstrated anything like his old form for the gig. A high-profile WrestleMania X8 match against Steve Austin was something of a farce, making the decision fire Hall for his ongoing substance abuse issues shortly after May's aviation issues all too easy.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
